This has been a very exciting year for me as an artist! My latest custom order has been a one of a kind request: a transom over a door, dividing a dining room and a kitchen.
I was recommended to this new client by a good friend of mine. She has a beautiful home in Bellaire, Houston. Her remodeling included a interior decorator and many spectacular artwork, leaving little room for a loud piece of glass on top of that door.
After a long study of colors and patterns that would be part of the complete decor, the home owner and I decided to go with turquoise and blue tones, some red and orange, and lots of clear glass for light flow. There should be no evident shapes or geometric designs in order to avoid competition with the paintings in the room. The result was a subtle, delicate piece, that bring harmony in the final composition of the room.
